★★★★☆ Moto G86 5G

The Moto G86 5G is a polished mid-range pick that feels a notch more premium than its price: you get a super-bright 6.67" 1.5K pOLED 120 Hz display (Motorola touts up to 4,500 nits; lab tests still show excellent real-world brightness), a 50 MP main camera with OIS that can shoot 4K/30, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a 5,200 mAh battery with 30 W charging, and rugged build credentials (Gorilla Glass 7i plus IP68/IP69). It ships with Android 15, supports 5G sub-6 (no mmWave), eSIM, and—per Motorola—microSD expansion up to 1 TB (some early reviews reported otherwise, likely due to regional differences).

Pros:

Class-leading “Super HD” 2712×1220 pOLED at 120 Hz with excellent measured brightness and HDR10+ support.

Durable for the segment: Gorilla Glass 7i and full IP68/IP69 water/dust protection.

Versatile everyday shooter: 50 MP OIS main + 4K/30 video, backed by a clean Android 15 build.

Cons:

Dimensity 7300 performance is fine for daily use but not a gaming powerhouse; Wi-Fi 6 is only 1×1.

No 3.5 mm headphone jack or wireless charging; USB-C port is USB 2.0 only.

Software policy is modest for a 2025 mid-ranger (reports point to ~4 years of security updates; OS upgrades may vary by region/carrier).
